Dining rooms have a wide budget range because the room itself can mean very different things — a small breakfast nook, a 4-person apartment table, or a full 8-seat formal set. Here's a realistic range based on what we see customers actually spend.
Budget tiers
- Under $1,000 — a simple table with 2-4 side chairs, no bench or buffet. Common for apartments and smaller households.
- $1,000–$3,000 — a 4-6 seat set with upholstered or wood chairs, sometimes including a bench. The sweet spot for most households.
- $3,000+ — a full formal set: larger table, 6-8 chairs, plus a buffet, china cabinet, or bar cart to match.
What moves the number most
Material is usually the biggest swing — solid wood and marble-top tables cost meaningfully more than veneer or laminate. Seat count matters too: going from 4 to 8 chairs roughly doubles that part of the budget on its own.
Where White Glove fits in
Dining sets are heavy and awkward to move alone — most customers add White Glove delivery for the table and chairs, which includes assembly and placement in the room, not just drop-off at the curb.
